Ram breeding has been an integral part of the Brimanna landscape for over 50 years. It is currently managed by Jayden Harris; grandson of the original owner and ram breeder Allen Harris. The stud was first registered as a merino stud in 1984 by brothers John and Rodney Harris, with the poll merino stud being registered in 1986. It went on to be ran by John and his wife Alison in 1989. 

The stud was based on Kelvale bloodlines and has since had infusions from Greenfields, Collinsville, Ridgway Advance and Moorundie Park.
